Hosted Vega apps, with device APIs
I ship Vega applications as hosted TV apps with full device API access - the same class of work as hosted Tizen and webOS, on new living-room hardware.
Vega is new hardware in the living room. The product still has to feel like a TV app: remote, playback, DRM, device info - not a website stretched to 10 feet.
I build Vega applications as hosted apps with full device API access. Same idea as the hosted Tizen and webOS work: the app is not trapped in a store binary for every change, and it is not a sandboxed page with the native APIs stripped out.
How that is wired is not something I publish. What I will say is the outcome. New Vega devices run the same kind of hosted OTT client I already ship on Samsung and LG. TitanOS sits in that HTML5 family too. Roku stays on its own track.
If you need Vega in the fleet - hosted, with the device APIs a production player actually uses - that is work I have done.
